Patenting
We see ourselves as a central communication and service hub for both university staff and the business community; we facilitate contacts, provide points of contact and promote research findings. Working alongside academics and researchers, we develop tailored approaches to intellectual property applications and commercialisation through the following steps:
- Evaluation of the ideas against the state of the art,
- Determination of the application strategy, taking into account the researchers’ interest in publication,
- Drafting, filing and monitoring of intellectual property applications, where necessary in collaboration with external patent attorneys,
- Identifying potential exploiters and negotiating with a view to concluding contracts (licensing, sale, spin-off)
